Ok, I’m not usually a cherrypicker but it’s about 847 degrees out and I hate Helen. So, peace out.

Bring a towel and lots of water to the gym today.

Take care of you! (5 points to those who get the reference)

    Hot Yoga Rx’d.

Heavy V offered to give me a hug when we finished, and I almost took him up on it. It is that spiritual.

Tomorrow we throw heavy weight around again.

Nice to get this done with the guys at 6AM. Pushed myself a little harder trying to catch up with Janitor and MarkCon beating me on the runs.

PM people – hydrate hydrate and BRING A TOWEL! You know it’s hot when you’re still sweating after a shower, LOL

Skinny V is a hugger, not a fighter.

Nice to share a yoga moment with Gargantuan Mike, Joe, Amy, Jared and Kabir.

Working on getting our yoga instructor into CFM…she’s fantastic.

So its one of South Africa’s greatest leaders, Nelson Mandela’s, birthday today so i thought i’d leave one of his inspirational quotes for the day –

“I have walked that long road to freedom. But i can rest only for a moment, for with freedom comes responsibilities, and i dare not linger, for my long walk is not ended”

    Have a good day everyone!

Working out at Black Swamp CrossFit in Toledo, Ohio. Last night, WOD was a 10 minute AMRAP of:
    10 SDHP (75)
    10 BJ
    10 Pull-ups
I did not represent us well (4 rounds and 5 pull-ups). These Ohio boys don’t mess around.

Today’s WOD was Grace (30 C&Js @ 135). 6:57. I’ve never done this and paced too much. Next time, I’ll try 3 every 30 seconds. I definitely felt the benefits of our strength cycle since 135 felt great.

  13. dlede

ouch, yeah, you should have been going head to head and I wouldn’t have chalked and would have ran faster.. next time!

Woke up, without looking at their blog, saw Fran, almost walked out!

Again, compliments on my Thruster form, but let me tell you – not one other person in the class broke parallel

    Metropolis standards are legit

I actually miss you all today, stay up!

  15. Benjammin

Completely gassed this morning…Thanks for the 6am crew for the motivation! Couldn’t have finished otherwise.
as always…making last place look sexy:

  16. @GusFerg – awesome quote.

Try this one on for size, another fav Mandela quote:

“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”

16:40 Rx’d — definitely off my PR time of 13:33.

Funky schedule these last couple of weeks, needed to do this WOD at globogym. I ran the 400 m down from the 4th floor to the street, which wasted a lot of time. Next time KB swings unbroken, lost a lot of time there too.

    Have a great trip Sandy!

  18. marilina

    1/2pd leftie
6 strict pull ups from wrists
    6 ring rows

Now that I’m finished with it, I am glad I didn’t choose to turn around half way there and go home. It’s HOT!

    Safe travels Sass

no more pull ups of any kind for me for a while.

    back squats (Monday’s drill)

    5 rounds of 5 @100#

excellent warmup with the 9am group!!
Hilarious – I had lunch with a friend who was “counting calories” – I have learned to hold my tongue on the topic of Paleo/Crossfit around “civilians” as it always leads to the “you’ve-joined-a-cult-and-have-sprouted-a-second-head” long stare.

  20. nicola

Excessive heat, thunder showers, cranky post-snatch knees and battered hands…all signs point to a rest day. God speed to all who dare WOD tonight.
