Chirag here, also known as Coach Chi, am a CrossFit L1/CF-Weightlifting Trainer and a graduate from Michigan State University (born and raised a MidWestern). I’ve been battling health & wellness for as long as I can remember. During this time, I’ve accomplished 2 half-marathons, a 2-mile swim, a Tough Mudder race (more fun, than tough), and 4 century-mile bike rides. However, also during this time I gained 40lbs and lost it…three times.
I’ve come to understand that this battle with overall health is mental and emotional, as much as it is physical. By the time I got around to the third cycle of losing weight, I finally said enough is enough and challenged myself to stay dedicated and consistent with my fitness…so much so that took a leap and invested everything I had earned into my passion and purpose of helping others live their best lives — I ditched the corporate desk to become owner of Metropolis: a community of everyday folks from all walks of life committed to fitness.
Everyday we are challenged to question our choices by asking ourselves: are we happy and healthy? And will this choice make me look and feel better?
Fitness transformation, or any type of transformation for that matter (whether in our career or personal life), requires a relentless effort towards greater self-awareness. Transformation is a lifelong journey that will always continue to challenge the emotional, mental and physical state of mind. To overcome these challenges we are required to build willpower, strength and confidence. The “end” result translates to all aspects of life and empowers you to take on each day and win professionally and personally.
